I am a medical doctor by training, currently being an EPIET fellow at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, Germany. In terms of research, I am a postdoc in Professor Anders Sönnerborg’s research group at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. My research focuses on infectious disease epidemiology, with an emphasis on clinical outcomes during and beyond respiratory virus infections. My PhD focused on epidemiological comparisons of COVID-19 with other respiratory viruses. Prior to this, I worked on elucidating the effect of human host factors on P. falciparum rosetting, with a special reference to human blood group antigens and the histo-blood group ABO system.
